Thats realy slightly sardonic.
Are we supposed to post in German on the English list?
Why not? This mixture of languages happens on other lists: people can
often read a little in another language, but reply in their own language.
Hipatia uses mixed Spanish/Portuguese/Italian/English (as a deliberate
policy).
Is it OK to post in German on the English list?
Warum nicht? I post in English on the the German list - maybe it makes
someone unhappy, but no-one has ever told me so (hence the request above).
If a mail on the English list is German only, people who know no German
will ignore it. No problem. If it is partly English, partly German, maybe
they will guess at the meaning of the German bits. Maybe we will even
learn some German!
I was just going to start a reply but it was German..;-)
Experiment... :-)
