Open Source Research Officer
ASIO Central Office, Canberra
ASIO Officer Grade 5
Salary - $57,899 to $66,042 (plus superannuation)
* ASIO salaries will increase by 4% from 1 April 2005 under the current
Workplace Bargaining Agreement

This is a Canberra-based contact position (contract up to 5 years) that
requires work hours of approximately 1330-2200hrs on a Monday to Friday
basis. On an infrequent basis, work during these times may involve monitoring
and alerting based on real-time information sources.

The person we need: A motivated self-starter who is highly knowledgeable in
conducting open source research and in the use of technology to facilitate
such activity. The successful applicant should be adept at managing a wide
range of clients and tasks, and have good team skills.
Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a facet of knowledge/information
management are highly desirable.
Selection Criteria:

4. Well developed written and oral communication skills.
5. Ability to plan, manage and refine workloads, and undertake
self-direction.
6. Sound knowledge of open source research resources, technologies and
knowledge management principles.
