Re: [ox-en] interesting website

Hi Franz,

I'm not at all understanding yet what you mean, so I was wondering: could you explain, for beginners,
what biomorphical feeding cycles are, and I would like then to use that text for a wiki and blog article,

off to australia for 24 days ...

Michel

Michael Bauwens writes:

The core issue is that we need a differential treatment of immaterial
production, where non-reciprocal peer production works just fine; and
material production, where the cost of the physical means of production
precludes non-reciprocity. Therefore, there we still need either
reciprocal schemes (gift economy) and forms of exchange (markets).

Or, as I always say, we need to find structures where material production
is transformed into a biomorphical "self-feeding cycle" ( or a cycle ofg
cycles) like in nature where there is neither reciprocal schemes nor
markets & money. Thats what is at the core of Global Villages theory, that
in a bioregional setting that is greatly augmented by technology and
advances in material sciences (compare Lovins, McDonough and others),
material goods are not basically scarce.

I do not suggest this is easy (we must adjust material streams and needs),
but we find a lot of tools just right before our eyes. Permaculture is a
good paradigm to harness the incredible potential of nature, I think a
good deal of the answer answer lies in a wisely augmented
Techno-Permaculture. There are few people that are on that train, one of
them is Rick Nelson (www.solaroof.org) and he is still very much concerned
with special issues and building blocks and not so much with whole
systems; we would need to analyze cross-connections between local physical
processes.

Eventually this leads tp increasingly construct houses and dwellings as
"living machines". Thats the way for me to escape your either / or.

Franz
