Hi Nate, all
The way this is shaping up is not really issue-based, for
research there will be streams rather than special issue, and
once there is enough material we could conceivably freeze things
and say "everything from here to here is issue x" but at this
point its more sequential: hence my use of the [category]001
format in the suggested site structure email i sent.
I don't think it is a problem if some names crop up several
times - within reason - it will just show that there are some
interested people. If you have the time and inclination, go for
it.
cheers,
mathieu

hi johanna / all,
i'd be happy to chime in. however, i've already got my
dialogue
with johan
on the go for this issue. it might be better for the journal
to
not have
repeat names in the first issue. it might look too in-house.
mathieu?

hello all of you
i do agree with nate that the questions are quite general.
what ist the
goal: to compare different conferences around p2p (how are
they organized,
what kind of goals etc) or to get more insights into the
topis
discussed on
the conferences?
however, i would do feel fine answering the questions //

is the plan to have these conference reports highly
standardised, where
each
person responds to the same questions? as they stand the
questions are very
relevant, but perhaps there should also be some room to
move.
it would be
good, for example, if the person began by responding to the
general> > questions, but then there was a second round, where
people
from the list
could ask about more specific things or for the reporter to
elaborate on
certan details. of course, this would require more work (and
words) and
would be less a report and more of a report/interview
hybrid.
just a
thought.

ps. Um, there should probably be a first question asking
the
name and
theme
of the conference..

Hi all
Johanna Nyesito has agreed to discuss the following online.
Thanks Johanna!
Here are my suggestions for the conference report questions.
Questions for Conference Reports
[approx. 1000 words total]
1-What were your goals in organising this conference?
2-Do you think those goals were met?
3-What did you learn in organisational terms?
4-With the benefit of hindsight, what would you do
differently?> > > >
5-Were there any particulary interesting / poetic /
dramatic moments?
6-What was your favorite presentation and why?
Please comment on these over the next week so we can
proceed and
ask our different conference organisers to fill in the blanks
for their reports.
cheers,
Mathieu
