As Graham pointed out in this list until now there is no culture to
damage.
However, on the German list there is a *very* pleasant culture I never
experienced before on a mailing list and I think this is one of the
key factors of Oekonux.
I was rather hoping the English list would turn out like the German list. I
heard about Oekonux from the recent Slashdot article, and I liked what I read
about it, but I was worried that a slashdotting would turn the whole thing
into a burning tar pit. This already happened to one mailing list I am on
(freenet-chat), which after being slashdotted a few years ago, became a
seathing mass of crap shortly thereafter (it has since died down *a lot*).
I took some German in high school, but I couldn't speak it very well then and
I certainly can't now. That's why my stupid, unilingual American self is
hoping the English list will be just as good :)

Mainly because of danger of a virus / worm but also to reduce
unnecessary doubling of data. Actually some `multipart' MIME-types
are filtered and are resend by hand.
Is it smart enough not to filter some encryption programs that store the
signatures as a seperate mimetype?
