But Karels benefactors are not necessarily his customers.
I think this makes a lot of difference.

May be Karel can tell us in some detail what is the relationship
between his benefactors and him.

Simple - they send money and I put them into the donors list. Usually
they are users of the device (plain people or NGOs that operate local
community network). Also some companies.
