Re: [ox-en] 4th conference

hejsan,

if you are not too afraid of the cold north...we can also offer stockholm as location. we have set up a student association here and we get a location free of charge at the university for hosting the event. as for getting here, there are also two low-cost airlines (sterling and ryanair) who have some kind of hub.

if there is interest we could look into that. let us know. :)

some showed a bit of an interest in the thing we are doing. a conference here might also be a good opportunity to get to know people on this list better. here http://www.vodes.net/revstartshere/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=22&Itemid=61 is a draft of the vn digital license for commercial, audio-visual content. any bug report/constructive critisim and also positive feedback is very welcome and desired.

this (http://www.vodes.net/revstartshere/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=21&Itemid=61) hopefully shows that we are determined and work professionally to achieve the goals (unzip and click "autorun.exe"). it is the cd menu for the first profun tournament we organised between kth and su. no real promotion and quite a number of mistakes have been made. still, students were happy and vn got 80 new people to register. right now we are preparing the next vn profun games and are confident that the battle of the letters is a hit discipline. ;)

the link above is to show that the thing defenitely has potential to go somewhere (very meaningful phrasing;)) people who complained that oekolinux doesnt show much of a an effect (something i personally dont agree with) can now do something - provided you agree with us on the goals of course.

anyhow, i dont like spam so ill stop here since i dont know how many consider this spam. we are ready to carry the concept into the real world...if someone on this list is interested...plenty of things that you can contribute. just drop us a line and we can take things from there.

:-)

Most of my current research is on Open Source and I have discovered the
work of the group only after the last conference in 2004.

Yeah the Oekonux Conferences are probably one of the most far reaching
Oekonux manifestations - especially in the international world.

I'm aware of the work load necessary to organise a conference and I
would be glad to provide any help for the organisation.

Thanks for this offer.

If finding a location is a problem, I can provide some alternatives in
the UK and in Italy.

Thanks a lot. Indeed Italy or UK would be nice options. I added a link
to your post to

so it is not forgotten.
