Indeed.

Personally, even after having listened to Keith Hart speak and answer
questions on this past friday, the idea makes no sense at all to me. How
is money able to "store" memory?

In the same way that all memory technology, by making a physical (including
electro-magnetic) impression of the information that is persistent.

Money is a way to remember, and like that other great memory prothesis,
writing, 
appeared around the same time in antiquity, and like writing, was mostly an
instrument of the elite.

I really have to do some programming now!
