It usually refers to "anti-utopia" situations. "1984" is the seminal
dystopic story. "Brave New World" and the lesser-known "We" are also in
the same area, along with modern Cyberpunk.
But isn't it usually 'dystopian' rather than 'dystopic'? (after all,
it's 'utopian', not 'utopic'...)
