Re: [ox-en] Re: [ox] fields of practice

Hi

I have just moved house and don't have a net connection at
home so I have been unable to follow this list properly
for a few days... I get a connection on Friday
(hopefully!).

i appreciate that you and others here understand the

I'm not on the project list and might have misunderstood
something but my understanding is that this debate was
about whether there should be a seperate Oekonux
conference or if the Oekonux conference should be combined
with the social forum.

I'm very much in favour of Oekonux ideas being presented
and discussed at social forums and other places like the
WSIS etc.

I don't think that the Oekonux conference should be folded
into the social forum -- this reminds me of debates like
this that have happened within Indymedia: Indymedia will
have get-togethers and some meeting at the ESF in Paris,
like happened at N5M last month in Amsterdam, but these
are not substitutes for seperate Indymedia events.

unfortunatly stefan merten has not understood it yet. he
does not see that the social forum could make a
contribution. he talks about preaching to them. (a
oneway comunication) the concept behind it is the "we
know it all" or "we are so much ahead you could not even
understand what we are talking about".. etc.. sad.

It sounds to me that you are talking about a different
Stefan Mertan than the one I know...
