What are "immaterial tasks"? How is writing software anything more

I have no idea about your background, but "writing software" is nowadays
at least a much more complex task than "cutting hairs" and is embedded
in a very complex engineering (knowledge) infrastructure that requires
reproduction, too.
You can learn more about that from my course slides "software from
components" http://www.informatik.uni-leipzig.de/~graebe/skripte (in
German) of directly from Szyperski's book "Component Software".
